Damned recovery

I officially hate surgery! I am feeling a bit better now, but the Reglin that was given me for my nausea after surgery Wednesday/Thursday has completely left my system, & these antibiotics are kicking my ass! I have a hard time swallowing, breathing, drinking (bc my tongue rubs on the stiches in the roof of my mouth), which also translates into a hard time sleeping! Then the antibiotics decide to fuck with my stomach too!??? I swear there's some grave injustice going on here!! Then parents of cleft affected kids wonder why the poor babies don't want anything in their mouth! I'm 23 & I don't want anything! Argh!
Damned surgery, damned recovery time, damned meds & liquid/blended diets, damn it all!

Ok, you all may go back to your regularly scheduled programming now. (sigh)

Nevermind the damned ear infection I've just discovered I have last night! I'll be so happy when this is over with!

Hey, I understand this damn rant, I had 8 damn months of damn chemo therapy, although I was luckier than most and had relatively minor side effects *hey, the operative word here is relative(. If you can stomache any ginger type stuff it works brilliantly on nautia, do not eat any of your fav foods as you may never want them again.
I got an acid reflux medication prescription to help with the side effects, it was brilliant, I believe it was nexium.
Check if you can get a prescription.

as my son used to say as a toddler "ow ow bow wow." Sounds like you are not haveing fun at all. Suck ice cubes. They will numb things up somewhat.

As one who has had many, many surgeries, I can sympathize, Michelle. Recovery sucks, and no mistake. Sometimes it brings on more problems then you had before the freakin' surgery in the first place. Good luck to you.

Thank you for that. I haven't read this since I posted, I was too busy bitching. Lol. I'll have to find some ginger something or other. As for favorite foods, no worrying about that since I can't eat anything. I've gone back to liquids bc it's too much having to worry about stiches falling out, or my whole incision coming apart, only to find out it's clumps of food. Lol.

awww! That's really cute. Lol.

I can't suck on ice cubes, tongue can't handle the cold (sores on it burn), & palate can't handle the heat. Everything needs to be near room temp before I can have it.
